It's a debate that just won't die. Older people hate it. Younger people love it.
So who is right? What kind of music is okay for church?
If you and your parents have different tastes in music, there's a good chance your parents once disagreed with their parents, too. It's been going on for generations!
Well, what if we told you both groups might be right?
Gilbert Cangy, youth director for the Seventh-day Adventist world church, shares some perspective on what kind of music is okay for worship. You might be surprised —or not— just watch:

Why are we looking for sinful man's perspective when we have the Bible and Spirit Of Prophecy that show us what are correct music forms and what aren't. Plus, how do instruments teach Jesus. The Bible AND the Spirit of Prophecy teach Jesus. Nothing else!!
Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for commenting. We hope you found the video useful in helping you decide what style of music you (and you alone) prefer to worship God with.
Just like a book, a video, or even a website can be used for sharing God, we believe instruments can be... well... instruments for sharing God's love as well! :)
Have a happy week!
To truly study God's Word, we need to dig into scripture. In so doing, we will find guidelines to the types of music used in the Sanctuary, both earthly and heavenly. Also, the SOP gives us guidelines to follow. Remember, we are to be in this world, not of this world. God has given us instructions, let us follow His Word!
It is amazing how in general people have misconceptions and believe in them as if they were the truth. Many time people referred to the Bible concerning music without noting what it is said in Psalm 150.
Beside there is not such a thing as the write or wrong way of worship. The one accepting worship is God alone and any attempt to condemn anyone else's way of worshiping or instruments used to falls in the doomed category of judging other, which God Himself condemns!
By the way my name is Marcellus and I can be reached at margallio@gmail.com.
His blessings on you all.
