Update: Southern Adventist University commented Friday on Miller's death:

"First and foremost, our campus is terribly saddened over the death of one of our students," wrote Ingrid Skantz, director of Marketing and University Relations.

"Cherise had left the university several days before her death due to health reasons," Skantz wrote. "She died in her hometown in Georgia. Information had not been released by the university because we had not received permission from the family to make information about her death public. Please pray for the friends and family of Cherise."

Editor's note: An earlier version of this article had mistakenly stated Miller died at the university. This article has been corrected to reflect the change in wording.
